Unbeaten Met go six clear at the top

Five goal win against Llandudno opens gap as Swans draw.

Cardiff Met opened up a six point gap at the top of the Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League with a 5-0 win at home to Llandudno.

A hat-trick from Naomi Clipston and two from Robyn Pinder did the damage for Kerry Harris's side, who were three goals to the good inside the opening 25 minutes.

They extended their lead over second placed Swansea City after the Swans threw away a two goal lead away at Cyncoed to end up drawing 2-2.

Stacey John-Davies and Emma Beynon had given the Swans the advantage, but Caitlin Bevan's penalty reduced arrears for the Mighty Oaks just before the break, and Sophie Norman found the top corner with twenty minutes to play to bring the home side level.

That result allowed Abergavenny to come within one point of the Swans after they ended Port Talbot's unbeaten start to the season with a 4-0 win at Pen-y-Pound.

League record scorer Lyndsey Davies bagged a hat trick on her 100th WPWL start, with Laura Davies grabbing the other goal.

Finally, Rhyl moved up to seventh with a 2-1 win away at Briton Ferry Llansawel.

Two goals in three minutes after the break from Laura Williams and Ashleigh Mills were enough for the Lilywhites, Lucy Powell's injury time goal proving only to be consolation for the Reds.
