Cardiff City and Avergavenny got the new year underway with wins that took them up to fourth and second respectively in the table.
Abergavenny had to battle to get past Rhyl up at the Educate Group Stadium, the visitors coming away with a 3-1 win. Lauren Daniels had put them in front midway through the first half, only for Alaw Davies-Smith to equalise on the half hour mark.
Lyndsey Davies restored the visitors' lead eleven minutes into the second half, before Kate Jeramiah's goal fifteen minutes from time sealed the points for Richie Jeramiah's team.
A remarkable game in Leckwith saw seven first half goals as Cardiff beat Llandudno 6-3.
Danielle Broadhurst opened the scoring on 7' for City, but they were quickly pegged back four minutes later by Aimee Todd's equaliser.
Danielle Green restored the Bluebirds' lead on 27', but again the Seasiders broke back quickly, Mari Gibbard levelling on 31'.
Three goals in nine minutes then gave the game a different complexion altogether, as City took control. Catherine Walsh found sister Siobhan in the visitors' box, and the defender slotted home her first of the season to make it 3-2.
Green then got her second, before Alana Murhpy's corner was deflected into the net during first half stoppage time to give City a commanding lead.
Green completed her hat trick late on, before Gibbard grabbed a further consolation for the Seasiders in the final minute.
